How it works
- Every hour we fetch the full list of posted and forecasted opportunities. New or changed opportunities get their details fetched within minutes; all details are refreshed at least weekly. Opportunities that leave the list (closed or archived) are removed from results.
- Search uses whole-word matching (singular and plural forms count as the same word, e.g. "community" finds "communities") across the title (weighted highest), description, agency, assistance listing and eligibility notes. All your words must match; if nothing matches all of them we say so and show grants matching some. Likely typos are corrected when the corrected word appears in current listings, and we say so.
- Applicant-type filter: an opportunity is shown if Grants.gov lists your applicant type, lists it as “unrestricted”, or lists “others” and its eligibility text mentions your type. Each result says which applies.
- Posted opportunities whose deadline has passed are hidden. Forecasted dates are agency estimates. Some forecasts stay listed on Grants.gov after their estimated date passes; we still show them (as Grants.gov does), clearly labelled, and list them after current ones.
Limits
- Federal opportunities on Grants.gov only. No state, local, foundation or corporate grants, loans or contracts.
- Grants.gov eligibility categories are broad; real eligibility depends on the full announcement.
- Data can lag Grants.gov by up to about an hour, longer if Grants.gov is unavailable.
